Today I am not sitting in a trashed house
Today I am not working on my second starbucks chocolate cocktail
Today I am not filthy from not showering
Today I am not thinking about those last 2 twinkies in my cupboard and having them for dinner
Today I am not riding around on a broomstick wanting to ring the kids neck who ruined Standards Night for Tyler!!
Today I am not dreading waiting up till 11pm for my girlies to get home from their swim meet because I am a little tired!!
Today I am not any of these things.......maybe tomorrow.
(p.s. if you can not read this blog with my voice drenched in sarcasm, shame on you!!!!)

Megan's Surgery
Since Megan was a little girl she has had some speech issues, specifically her R pronunciation. After years of worry we finally got her into therapy in school and after 2 years her grandma suggested to me who suggested to her therapist that it may be a physical impossibility for her to make her tongue the actual movement because it is too short. Well her orthodontist said that she needed some teeth pulled. Since the oral surgeon was taking the teeth out we went ahead and had him do her tongue also.
We did her surgery on last Thursday and it went very well. She was hilarious coming out of her anesthesia, talking a about wanting to take the recover chair home, as well as the blanket. Oh she also wanted to stop on the way home at school and take her standardized test that she was missing.
She has recovered well. She wont let me take any pictures which is a bummer because they are pretty cool looking!! Her tongue has gone from 3 times the size to only twice the size. She no longer has to use sign language to communicate and she is off ICEES and pudding. Tonight she had her first pizza in five days!!! She finally goes back to school tomorrow and we start some intense rehab therapy as well as speech but we are really excited about finally getting this all taken care of!! It has been a really long time coming!!!!

WICKED!!!
No this blog is not about me!! I realize that it soooo could be, sorry to dissapoint, maybe next time though!!!
Anyway, GLEE is a big thing in our house these days. It is some amazing music from so many different genres that it keeps everyone in the family entertained. It also exposes us to songs that are not on the radio(Broadway, blues, oldies) which, I think is so good for the kids AND MYSELF!!
One of the episodes last season highlighted the song "Defying Gravity" from the Broadway musical "Wicked". The girls that sang it on the show did a great job!! This intrigued me....I have seen several pictures of friends who have gone to see the musical and heard great things about it that, when I heard this song on Glee I decided to check out what the hype is about.
Well, the musical is coming to Phoenix this summer while I am in Arizona so, as case in movie/book etequite, I bought the book so that I could compare it to the musical when my mother and I go see it.
PLAN A
I figured I would follow the rules...
1. read the book
2. see the play
3. love the play
4. buy the soundtrack
5. Obsess about how amazing the entire experience is!!!
Soooo I went to Target and bought the book, started it while I was waiting for the girls to get out of swim team. Came home and got dinner and happened to post on my Facebook that I bought the book well that didnt help my plan!!! Thanks LADIES!! Apparently it is a kinda freaky book which i fully intend to give a chance. BUT they also pointed out that the soundtrack is freakin amazing!!!And the musical is amazing!! Which made me change how I am going to experience "Wicked"
PLAN B
1. Already "itunes'd" the soundtrack(holy greatness!!!)
2. Still reading the book, not turned off yet, will let ya know
3. obsess about the soundtrack
4.obsess about the musical
5. see the musical and join the masses!!!

It probably doesn't help that I eat like a freakin lumberjack!!!
Anyway, the other day I was at the fitness center and I had an epiphany, in the form of a flyer!!! They are doing this boot camp starting in April for 6 weeks!! I totally signed up!!! I can't wait! Its one on one with a personal trainer, food analysis and all that jazz!!!
We are headed to Tucson the end of May for a month and a half and I will maybe be in shape to wear sundresses and shorts!!!! WooHoo!!!
APRIL 6 BABY!!!!!Should probably cleanse all the junk out of my body by then!!!

Tyler
So this past week I bought a Ford Expedition.. Dont freak Melissa!! I took your advice, kinda. Didnt buy as new as I wanted and was almost almost able to pay cash(thank you Uncle Sam!!) Anyway, the thinking is buy the Expedition me for now and then hand it down to Tyler when he turns 16, and then get me a newer one then. I have decided this is too big a vehicle for Tyler and he has decided he wants a jeep. This works out better for us both.
Anyway I told that story to tell you this one. Tyler turns 16 in 2 months and 9 days!!!
My baby will be able to drive, date, and so on!!
We have already been getting college invitation letters in the mail, not to mention the Marines and the Army want him in a big way!!( I told him to give them my dads phone number and if he says Tyler can join than its ok with me)
The girls got new full size beds last month and Tyler was going to get the same thing, but I started thinking he can't take a full size bed to a dorm. How can I be thinking this!!!!! Already!!! He was just playing in the wading pool out in front of the blue house on Stadium Avenue!!
Now, he is driving me all around town, deciding to get rid of his Facebook because it was taking up too much of his time(not even MY idea)!!
I am soo impressed with the young man he has become, he is 3 merit badges and one project from getting his Eagle Scout which he wants to wait till my brother gets home before he completes it(again, not my idea)
He will be a Junior in High School in 2 months!!Then he will be 2 years from graduation,3 years from serving a mission!!!
This can't be this close to happening!!
Time has flown by and I have sooo many regrets!! I should have read more books, played more legos, taken more walks and so on!!! I can say that we have had a blast together. We are so close to eachother and I am thankful for that. Thankful for the late night talks, early morning Seminary runs, and the connection that we have!! He is such a great man to me and to those around him!!
I just wish this time was not going to fly by so quickly!!While I am anxious to see the adults they will become, I love my children!! They are my best friends and I love that I have been blessed to be their mother!!
