Ok so somehow in the grand scheme of things I was tapped to be the obsessive, competitive one! I'm sure my husband is so dang proud!! I can't just do something and finish it. I have to go through something similar to the grief process.
First, get the news-Take this week for example. I am the Booster Club President for Tyler and Madalyn's high school. Well as part of the responsibility of this "whatever you want to call it" I get to do some PR. (umm GAG!!) Well we are sponsoring a golf tournament type event this week. Tons of fun! Great fundraiser for the kiddos!! So far, so good.....ENTER the local NBC station, who called me and said "hey come down and be on our morning show and talk about the tourney" or something like that. Its all a blur because I don't stay too long on the first stage of this "PROCESS"
Second, have INSANE, UNREALISTIC delusions of grandeur- I am sure my family members can see EXACTLY where this is going and my poor husband can see our bank account making that gigantic sucking sound!! Well, I hung up and immediately started trying to figure out what I was going to wear and how I was going to loose exactly 45 pounds in exactly 5 days.Decided to sew my lips shut and run hills in a rubber suit(KIDDING!!) I'm still fat... I emailed my dear fashionista friend and called my dear fashionista sister and had them help dress me. (as if they had nothing better to do) I loaded my shopping cart at the Banana Republic,DSW, and Anthropologie websites with the promise to my husband that whatever I didn't wear I would send back(i'm sure he is thinking," yep heard that before")
Third, add the competive edge- One of my MANY SKILLS!! I do this by thinking "i have to be the winner, I can't go on that show looking like a frumpy housewife" (HELLO! ISN'T THAT EXACTLY WHAT I AM!!!???)
Fourth, acceptance(this is where Kelley, freshly BROKE, breathes a sigh of relief - I look at where I am and where I am going and realize that my gift is the ability to freak out, take everyone down with me, catch my breath and come to accept where I am AND VOW to DO THINGS DIFFERENTLY!!!!
And so there you have it, they 4 stages of my freakiness!!! My poor children don't stand a freaking chance!!!!
